Hathaway Scholarship Requirements for 2013, 2014 and 2015 Graduates


Hathaway scholarships are designed to provide an incentive for Wyoming students to prepare for and pursue post-secondary education within the State of Wyoming. The program consists of four separate merit scholarships, each with specific eligibility requirements, and a need-based scholarship for eligible students that supplements the merit awards.

Hathaway Scholarship-Honors

    $1,600 per semester

    • Math- 4 years of math
      • Must include Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and an additional math
    • Language Arts- 4 years of Language Arts
    • Science- 4 years of science
    • Social Studies- 3 years of social studies (five content areas must be covered in 3 years)
    • Foreign Language 2 years of sequenced foreign language (i.e. Spanish 1 and Spanish 2)

    +3.5 Grade point average and 25 ACT

Hathaway Scholarship-Performance

    $1,200 per semester

    • Math- 4 years of math
      • Must include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and an additional math
    • Language Arts- 4 years of Language Arts
    • Science- 4 years of science
    • Social Studies- 3 years of social studies (five content areas must be covered in 3 years)
    • Foreign Language 2 years of sequenced foreign language (i.e. Spanish 1 & 2)

    +3.0 Grade point average and 21 ACT

Hathaway Scholarship- Opportunity

    $800 per semester

    • Math- 4 years
      • Must include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry and an additional math.
    • Language Arts- 4 years of Language Arts
    • Science- 4 year of science
    • Social Studies- 3 years of social studies
    • Foreign Language- Demonstrate proficiency on the state standards for the foreign cultures and languages common core of knowledge.

    +2.5 Grade point average and 19 ACT

Hathaway Scholarship-Provisional Opportunity

    $800 per semester

    • Math- Current high school graduation requirements
      • Must include two of the three: Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry
    • Language Arts- Current high school graduation requirements
    • Science- Current high school graduation requirements
    • Social Studies- Current high school graduation requirements
    • Foreign Language- Demonstrate proficiency on the state standards for the foreign cultures and languages common core of knowledge.

    +2.5 Grade point average and 17 ACT or 12 WorkKeys

    This scholarship is good for four semesters at a Wyoming community college. Upon successful completion of a degree or certificate, students will then qualify for an additional four semesters at the University of Wyoming or a Wyoming community college.
