| The Clinic is a biannual event offered in the fall and spring. The Clinic offers a transdisciplinary assessment providing strategies and recommendations to school districts, preschools, families and therapists who work with students of ANY disability. The Clinic offers: assessment, intervention, research-based best practices, strategies, and recommendations as well as medical information and interventions for the attending students. This information can be used to validate existing programming, determine new goals for the IEP/IFSP, offer recommendations on existing goals and assist districts with their three year evaluations. The Clinic is comprised of the Wyoming Educational Intervention Assessment Team (WEIAT) and the medical staff. The WEIAT conducts the assessment incorporating a transdisciplinary approach utilizing both play therapy and academic testing. The WEIAT is comprised of: Augmentative Communication Specialists, Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Teachers for the Hearing Impaired, Teachers for the Visually Impaired, Feeding Specialists, Orientation & Mobility Specialists and AT Specialists. The assessment results in recommendations for the home and school and can assists with development of IFSP / IEP goals and benchmark outcomes. Learning Media Assessments and Functional Vision Assessments are also available. In addition to the WEIAT, the Clinic offers medical assessments and interventions by the medical team which includes: audiologist, genetics counseling, low vision specialist, nutritional counseling, optometrist, pediatrician, and psychologist.
